Algo de historia de los Vinos de Palencia
La historia de los Vinos de Palencia pasa por la localidad de Dueñas, de dicha provincia, que posee un rico patrimonio enológico con casi 200 bodegas y 100 cuevas. Entre sus 4 barrios de bodegas existentes, La Tejera, San Antón y Zacatín, Santa Marina y San Pedro. La primera fecha referida a las bodegas de dicha localidad, data del año 1211, cuando un Privilegio Rodado de Alfonso VIII, menciona la donación de la bodega regia al Monasterio de las Huelgas de Burgos. En 1850, Dueñas pasó a ser el principal centro vinícola de la comarca del Cerrato. A finales del siglo XIX y principios del XX, dicha localidad llegó a tener unas 300 bodegas, cuando, a causa de la plaga de filoxera que asoló a Francia, Dueñas suministró vino a la región de Burdeos, gracias a su conexión por ferrocarril.
